Jason believes that to reach a meaningful goal, one has to start with a sound plan of action. Just as a builder wouldn’t set out without a blueprint, one shouldn’t rely on spur-of-the-moment decisions to achieve lifelong financial well-being.
To help his clients plan their routes – and adjust course for changes along the way – he works to fully understand their situations and circumstances and digs deep to identify investments and strategies to match. And knowing that not all clients have the same level of investing experience, he reinforces his partnerships with clients through education and mutual understanding.
Jason got his start as a financial advisor in 2014 at Wells Fargo Advisors. He affiliated his practice, Mississippi Sound Financial Planning, with Raymond James Financial Services and Concurrent Advisors in 2020, attracted to Raymond James’ commitment to putting clients first, its comprehensive financial planning software, and its wide array of sophisticated resources that enable him to assist his clients in more meaningful ways.
Growing up with a financial advisor for a father, lessons on finance, investing, and advising were always present in his household. Jason became a shareholder at the age of 5 when his father gave him a framed stock certificate.
The seeds planted by his father’s early lessons have grown into a lifelong passion to learn more about all things finance. After graduating with his Bachelor of Arts from The University of Southern Mississippi, he has gone on to achieve the Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ designation and Certified Financial Planner™ certification.
Jason is now a father himself and hopes to continue the traditions and lessons he learned from his childhood. He and his wife, Audrey “Adair” Huffman, have two wonderful daughters, Audrey Mae and Evelyn Adair.
He has a connection with the local area’s natural beauty and resources, and likes to camp, hike, and kayak. He also has served on the board of the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain, an organization that seeks to preserve green and blue spaces in perpetuity
Jason was born along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and plans to spend the rest of his life here learning more, helping others, and enjoying all its beauty.
